COVID-19 | Site access requirements for suppliers, contractors & other customers
The below update provides an outline as to how we plan to operate in terms of vaccine certificate requirements here at Ellerslie Event Centre (at Ellerslie Racecourse).
As you will be aware, the Government confirmed on 29 November that New Zealand will move into the COVID-19 Protection Framework on 3 December.
As expected, Auckland and selected other areas with low vaccination rates are moving to the “Red” traffic light setting, with the rest of the country to “Orange”.
Once the new framework is in place, there will be an increased risk of community transmission of COVID-19.
It is our responsibility to provide a safe working environment for our people, suppliers, subcontractors, and our clients and prepare to operate safely.
We have consulted with our workforce in anticipation of the potential options and issues associated with COVID-19 management in the workplace, considering:
The existing Government mandate for specific work environments and the potential that such mandates will be extended;
Specific customer requirements, as communicated through contracts; and
Any job specific risk assessment, based on Work Safe and Government guidelines, that points us towards requiring vaccination as a key tool in increasing the safety of our staff and the wider community they interact with.
As a result, our sites and offices will require full vaccination for people working there.
Depending on the nature of your engagement that may impact on your workforce.
As a hospitality business we will be operating with vaccination certificate requirements, with a condition of entry onto our premises being double vaccination*.
From 3 December anyone* wishing to enter either of our sites at Ellerslie and Pukekohe Park will be asked to present their “My Vaccine Pass” (Aotearoa New Zealand ‘s official COVID-19 vaccination record) either via a phone or print-out. Attendees may also be required to show a valid form of photographic identification.
These passes will be scanned using the NZ Pass Verifier application with entry granted to those people showing a double-vaccinated status*. Anyone who is unable to show a valid “My Vaccine Pass” will not be permitted into our site(s)*.
The requirement to present a “My Vaccine Pass” is not just limited to the day of your event – scanning will be required at any time anyone wishes to come on site.
In addition, site visitors are reminded that record keeping and / or scanning when visiting businesses is required or encouraged (depending on the current "traffic light" level). Visitors are strongly encouraged to sign-in to the venue using the NZ COVID-19 Tracer app. QR codes for scanning will be on display at the main entrance and at other points throughout the venue. If required, manual sign in forms will also be available at the main entrance (Gate 6), the Administration Office (when open) and in the foyers of the stands.
While the scanning and sign-in process is designed to be as straight forward as possible, delays and/or queues may happen.
Ensure you plan your journey to our sites ahead of time in the event we are required to scan a high number of people on any given day.
If you have any questions or concerns, please talk to your Ellerslie Event Centre contact as required.
Thank you for your understanding and patience,
The team at Ellerslie Event Centre
